Our lives are but a journey through an hourglass, and we the tiny granules of sand careening through the pinched glass as time runs out.
It sounds like such a depressing way to look at life and the events therein. To me, it's a stabilizing quote that came to me after much hardship which solidifies that things are temporary and that the most devastating, hurtful moments in life will become a testament to a past one has triumphed over.
